Ernesto DADA

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:4-7

Hola! My name is Jorge Ernesto Dada, my friends call me Neto, and you can too. I was born in the most beautiful city in Mexico - Tijuana, Baja California in January 1976. When I was two years old, my parents got a divorce which led me to live under the care and very loving arms of my grandparents. Fortunately, my parents’ divorce was not the focus of my young childhood. Instead, I spent my time playing with my friends in the neighborhood and coming home for dinner to my grandma’s delicious food. These innocent joys didn’t last long, as I grew older and began to understand that my parents weren’t around, I became very angry at life. This bitterness that began to form in my heart started to penetrate every part of my life.
Then, as a fifteen-year-old, my mom brought me to the United States to live with her and start at a new life at a new high school. A recipe for disaster. A completely different country, a different language, a different culture, and an immature mindset that only highlighted my anger. The world was not in my corner. But God was.
At sixteen, I met my precious wife. To avoid long details, we’ll fast forward to the important part. We’re both twenty years old and madly in love so, we decided to get married. Now that you know my backstory you’re probably thinking “Oh no.” As you should, but you already know the happy ending. What happened in between then and now is the most important piece. Two years into our marriage, we were separated, angry with one another, and full of resentment towards each other and the marriage. We began the process of getting a divorce.
By the grace of God, we were invited to church by friends who loved Jesus and knew they needed to love us. With no real hope for our marriage, we accepted the offer as a last hope. In 1998, Isabel and I attended Calvary Chapel Oceanside for the first time and learned about the saving and redeeming power of Jesus Christ. We accepted Jesus’ free gift of salvation and began to experience the radical change that comes with following Jesus. It is only by the grace of God that my beautiful wife and I have been married since 1995. We have had many trials along the way, but I can always look back to the abundant mercy and grace God has shown us, and looking forward, I am hopeful in all things because God is so good to me and my family.
We were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Alondra and Andrea. “My daughter Alondra is married to my son in law Ben and God’s provision couldn’t be more evident. They both love Jesus and have established their marriage with Him as their cornerstone. I have always wanted a Son and we are blessed to have Ben as our son” (Ben “My Son in Law” 2022).
