Fariba was born in Tehran , the capital city of Iran in 1965. Her parents decided to leave Iran in 1975 and immigrate to London , England . Their decision to immigrate was to provide a better future for their children. Fariba is the youngest of three (she has two brothers.)

Fariba, being Moslem at birth, did not know Jesus as the Son of God. When in England , she was introduced to Jesus Christ at the age of 12, by a “missionary kid,” a beautiful, godly woman who was in her 80s and who was in fact born in Iran while her father and mother served as missionaries. Although Fariba did not accept Jesus into her heart at that time, the seed was firmly planted.

Fariba’s love of art drew her to attend an art school in London . It took her two years to build her portfolio before she was accepted. In December of 1986, having worked so hard on this goal, she decided to take a break and visit one of her brothers in California . She took a walk up a hill in Irvine and discovered a beautiful chapel on the campus of Christ College Irvine (CCI), now known as Concordia University .

One of the administrators noticed her on an empty campus on Christmas break and took her on a tour of the college. The art department was extremely impressive and with the encouragement of her brother she decided to change her plans and stay in California to continue her education. On the first quarter Christianity 101 was offered. The seed was watered and Fariba gave her life to Christ. Fariba graduated in June 1990 with a major in business administration with an emphasis in management and a minor in art.

Fariba met her husband Babak (Bob) at an Iranian Church in Irvine on Christmas Eve in 1995. At the time Bob was attending Christian Heritage College in El Cajon , training to be a bush pilot. They knew right from the start that their union was ordained by the Lord Jesus and were married six months later. They are the blessed parents of two children, Hannah Grace and Cameron Isaac.

Bob and Fariba have been attending Calvary Chapel Oceanside since June 1996. Fariba has been involved with children’s ministry from the very first year of attending CCO. She has served as a Sunday school teacher, an elementary coordinator, later she coordinated children’s ministry Sunday service and now serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry.
